Schizophrenia is considered one of the most devastating of the major psychiatric disorders, which has three distinct facets, often referred to as 'positive' (hallucinations, delusions), 'negative' (blunted emotions, reduced capacity for pleasure), and 'cognitive' (impairments in attention, memory, and problem-solving) symptoms.
