Highly sensitive weather radar a gain for climate research

TU Delft has taken the "Drizzle Radar" into use, a new weather radar system which can observe even the lightest of drizzles. From its spot on top of the 213 meter-high Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute measurement tower, this highly sensitive radar is to help provide a complete picture of the interaction between dust, clouds, rain and radiation. The latter is still one of the least understood factors in climate models.
